The Baltimore Ravens came into the NFL as a quasi-expansion franchise when the Cleveland Browns relocated to Baltimore in 1996. The Ravens picked their team name from a fan contest. The then owner of the Baltimore Ravens Art Modell came under fire for relocating the Cleveland Browns to Baltimore and decided it would be better to let the City of Cleveland keep the Browns name. The Ravens are one of four teams to win their lone Superbowl appearance with a win over the New York Giants in Superbowl XXXV at the end of the 2000 season getting owner Art Model his only Superbowl after owning the Browns since 1963.
