Ryan Newman went out late yesterday afternoon and stole the pole position from Jimmie Johnson. Today he took the race from him too. Ryan Newman won the 2013 Brickyard 4000 by beating the guy he was racing all day long.

It was clear the 2 best cars at Indianapolis today were Jimmie Johnson and Ryan Newman. Newman was just a bit better and he had some things go his way during the pit stops too. Newman crossed the finish line in first place and he beat the rest of the field to win the Brickyard 400.

He had a great set up today. The track was a lot cooler than it was during many of the practice sessions. The temperature was in the lower 70′s and Newsman’s pit crew was able to get the car set up right. The track saw tight cars that became loose most of the day.

Somehow Newman was able to hold things together long enough to get the win. You could tell yesterday when he went out and took the pole position away from Johnson he was going to give a run for his money during the race.

That he did and now Ryan Newman is the 2013 Brickyard 400 champion. Congratulations to Ryan Newman….
