Mike McCoy is now the head coach of the San Diego Chargers. McCoy who is getting credit for turning the Denver Broncos around with the Tim Tebow & now Peyton Manning era has a chance to show the NFL he is head coaching material.  People say McCoy is the guy who took the Broncos into the play offs, with Manning I say McCoy played a small role. The Chargers have their work cut out for them, they finished the 2012 season with a 7-9 season and then fired the head coach Norv Turner. People in San Diego are concerned about whether McCoy will keep the services of John Pagano who has helped the Chargers defense. The Chargers are going to see if McCoy will keep Pagano soon. There is plenty of speculation about the Cleveland Browns new head coach Rob Chudzinski wanting to hire Pagano. The Chargers refused to grant other teams the opportunity to talk to Pagano thus far. All that could change after McCoy has a chance to talk to Pagano.

Mike McCoy spent most of his NFL coaching career with the Carolina Panthers as an assistant coach. He coached the wide receivers and quarterbacks in Carlina before being named a Passing game coordinator/quarterbacks coach in 2007. He then left to become the Broncos Offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach in 2009. Now, McCoy take his first NFL head coaching position after being an offensive assistant for his entire coaching career. McCoy is 40 years old and he could give the Chargers some stability as a head coach for years if successful.
