The St. Louis Cardinals had their backs against the wall heading into game 6, they knew they needed a win to push the series into the 7th game and they sent Michael Wacha to the mound to stop this powerful Boston Red Sox line-up from scoring runs.

The hype surrounding a Wacha game 6 appearance was second to none and the pitcher couldn’t live up to it.  Wacha only lasted 3-2/3′s innings and he gave up 5 hits and 6 runs including a long ball that would put this world series out of reach for the Cardinals.

He struck out 5 and walked 4, it wasn’t his finest performance and his pitching put the Cardinals behind in a hole that they couldn’t climb out of.

The Cardinals were out-classed by the Red Sox. The Cardinals couldn’t get the offense going and it wasn’t easy to watch the air come out of the team that played so well throughout the 2013 season.

The Cardinals would use 6 other pitchers in-game 6 and none of them gave up a run. The damage was already done and St. Louis had no offense. Wacha has to be feeling like crap, that is the way he pitched and win the guy who is suppose to shut down the other teams offense, give up 6 runs he deserves to feel like crap.

There is always next year for the Cardinals.
