Maurice Jones-Drew ends his hold out and reports back to work. He held out for 38 days trying to get a restructured deal. Obviously Jones-Drew came to his senses and decided 31 million dollar deals for running backs is nothing to sneeze at. Jones-Drew, who led the NFL in rushing in 2011 with 1,606 yards, has held out through the entire preseason because he wants a re-structured contract. In a recent conference call with local reporters, Jags head coach Mike Mularkey said that he was hearing “rumors” that MJD might return sooner than later — and in time for the Jags’ regular-season opener against the Minnesota Vikings next Sunday.

When are these players going to realize a contract is a contract. If Jones-Drew can stay healthy and produce the great numbers he is capable of, the Jaguars would have little choice but to give him a better deal before another team snatched him up. Jones-Drew needs to get to work and help the Jaguars win. It’s time to stop the B.S. and prove he can do it….
