Can Marc Leishman, go on to win the 2013 Masters? he is the current leader in the Club House at 6 under par. Leishamn did something golfer Greg Norman never did, he won the PGA Tours, rookie of the year award back in 2009.

Leishman could also do something else Norman never did if he can continue to play the way he did in round 1. He could win the Masters. The guy played a fantastic opening round at Augusta.

He started off his day making a bogey on hole number one. He then went on to make par at the 2nd and made another bogey at the par 4 3rd hole. Just like that, he was 2 over par. He then made pars at the next 4 holes, before fining his first birdie of his opening round at the par 5 8th. He made the turn at 1 over par.

Somehow he was able to pull it together on the back 9. Some say, the Masters starts on the back nine on Sunday, for Leishman, the Masters started on the back nine on Thursday. He found a birdie at the difficult par 4 10th, that seemed to settle this Aussie down a bit.

He pared the next 2 holes and somehow he went on a birdie parade. he made birdies at the next 4 holes in a row. He birdie the 13th,14th,15th,and 16th to get it to 6 under par. He would sit in the club house with the lead. It had to feel great after the way his first round at Augusta started off.

To come in with a 66 after making the turn at 2 over par, shows this guy has what it takes to pull his game together. There is still a lot of golf to be played at Augusta, but the way he played the back nine today, anything is possible.
