Marc Leishman literally tore Conway Farms Golf Club apart today. He fired a sensational -9 under par 62 on this par 71 track. This is the third leg of the FedEx Cup finals and has no cut.

That’s right there are only 70, actually 69 players, as Danny Lee had to withdraw with a back problem. No cut after 36 like so many. That means that EVEN Louie Oosthuizen who is dead last at 5 over par still has a mathematical chance to end up in the top 30.

The top 30 players head to East Lake CC in Atlanta Georgia next week for the FedEx Cup finals. $10,000,000 to the year-long winner. It doesn’t sound like lot of money if you say it really fast! LOL LOL

Leishman played so solid today and his only blemish on his card was the bogey 4 on the 6th hole. 10 birdies today wow how cool is that! Fairways and greens = Birdies!

Want to talk about birdies? How about our boy Rickie Fowler who started off birdie, bogey, and then proceeded to reel off 9 straight pars. Suddenly Rick saw the light, holy smokes, he got 6 birdies in a row! Rickie, in his pro career, has had 4 in a row a total of 8 times. Today though he fired off 6 in a row and seriously I thought it would be 7 because the par 5 last hole out there is do-able. Rick hit a good drive and laid up his second and hit a decent third but couldn’t sink the birdie.

Anybody interested in who has the record for most birdies in a row? It’s Mark Calcaveccia……….9 in a row. That was a long time ago and will probably be one of those records that will never be beat.

We have a 3 way tie for 2nd place. Jason Day, Charlie Hoffman, & Jamie Lovemark.
All three played well today. We all were watching Jason Day very closely as he was walking a little gingerly, as the announcers said, but he said that he has back pain EVERYDAY! Today was a little worse than normal but he ended the back nine with 5 birdies and 4 pars. Not bad for a sore back.

I have a really good feeling about Charlie Hoffman this week and next week too. He feels so great bout getting picked for the President’s Cup and I think he has started to really peak! Go get em Charlie
