The RBC Heritage got back on track today. The weather held off even though it rained lightly most of the day, the golfers were able to finish their second rounds and play their entire third round. Some guys had to play as many as 31 holes today. Luke Donald, played fantastically.

He shot a round of 66 and managed to pull off a 2 stroke lead over 2nd place held by, John Huh. Donald played a great 3rd round and somehow was able to control his shots while battling the winds coming in off the Calabogie Sound. Donald came back and shot his 66, even after he made 3 bogeys today.

He made eagle at the par 5 second and then gave one stroke back on the par 4 3rd. He would then make par at the par 3 4th, and then he made a birdie on the par 5 fifth. Donald wasn’t done yet. He made back to back bogies at the 6th and 7th  holes before going on to make birdie on the 8th, one of the toughest par 4′s on the course.

Luke Donald had everything going his way on the back 9. He made 4 more birdies on number 10-11-14 and 17. He almost holed out his second shot on the 18th for his second eagle of the day, after hitting a fairway metal into the wind that was blowing hard in his face.

He can now get some rest and prepare to battle the 10 other guys who are all within striking distance if a win. The 46th RBC Heritage is going to have one heck of an exciting finish. Credit has to be given to the tournament director, Steve Welmot and his entire staff.

Somehow they were able to go up against mother nature and find a solution to bring in the spectators after all the parking lots were buried under nearly 3 inches of rain on Friday. The grounds crew at the Harbour Town Golf Links also did an amazing job having the course ready to play at 8:00AM this morning.

This is going to be one of the best finishes in the 46 year history of the Heritage. Guys like John Huh, Jim Furyk, Charl Schwartzel, Ben Martin and Matt Kuchar all have a chance if they can play well. The Pete Dye designed course is one of the true tests of golf and deserves props, for giving the best players in the world all that they can handle…

If you love golf, you won’t want to miss the final round of the 2014 RBC Heritage, live from the Harbor Town Golf Links in Easter Sunday..
