Larry Bird the former Celtics star player’s son was arrested Sunday in Bloomington, Ind. Apparently he was having issues with his former girlfriend and he tried to run her over with a car according to Indiana University Police Department Chief Keith Cash. Connor Bird, 21, faces multiple charges, including battery with injury, criminal mischief, intimidation with a deadly weapon and possession of marijuana.
When approached for a comment Bird’s Lawyer said; It is a private matter we are hoping to resolve as quickly as possible,” He also went on to say he was glad nobody was seriously injured. According to police, trouble began after Bird and the ex-girlfriend got into a dispute Sunday at his Bloomington apartment. Bird threw a cell phone at the unidentified woman. police also said, Bird waited at her home and then took her to a parking lot to talk things over. However, they got into another altercation, police said, and the woman got out of Bird’s car to walk home.
That’s when, according to police, Bird twice tried to run her over with his car. Another IU student witnessed the incident, police said, and took the woman to the IU Police Department to report the incident.
