Kyle Stanley went around East Lake CC in Atlanta at the Tour Championship today, like he was a member!

Kyle, the former touring pro from Berkely Hall in Bluffton South Carolina, started par, par, then here we go…….birdie, birdie, birdie, birdie, another par, and finishes off the front with a bogey and a par.

The back nine was flawless with 6 pars and 3 birdies. He ended the day with a 6 under par 64 on this par 70 track.

We must not forget that these are the top 30 Fed Ex Cup point leaders for the WHOLE YEAR! Only 30 players and there are still 12 shots between the leader Kyle Stanley at -6 under par and the #30 guy, Kevin Chappell, who sits at 6 over par after Friday’s round.

We have a big 4 way tie for second place with Webb Simpson, Daniel Berger, Brooks Koepka, & Paul Casey all sitting pretty only 2 strokes behind.

Our projected winners are in a t6 now at -3 under.

Of course I am talking about Jon Rahm, Jordan Speith, & Justin Thomas.

It really won’t take much for them to get back in the game. Reading off a string of birdies is not unusual for these guys, that’s for sure.

My boy Pat Perez is doing great. Pat came in here happy as a clam.

All he wants to do is play golf and have fun. You have to hand it to a guy like Pat. He has never been in jeopardy of losing his card in 16 years on the tour, BUT this is his first Tour Championship.

I’m sure he will do fine, today a 69 to start one under par.

My concern is with Rickie Fowler who didn’t play well at all today. He came in at plus 3 for a 73. He needs to get it going and get it going quickly tomorrow.

These other guys are not going backwards. That’s for sure!

Keep your tv tuned to golf and be ready to see some magical shots this weekend!
