Kevin Chappell has a one stroke lead after round 3 at the Valero Texas Open. Do you remember who I said to watch out for this weekend? Kevin Chappell that’s who.

What a CRAZY round of golf he had!

Front nine started out bogey, birdie, par, bogey ,birdie, double bogey, par, birdie, and bogey. My oh my it was like riding a roller coaster and only shot a 2 over par 38.

The back nine showed what he is made of……4 pars in a row, birdie, par, birdie, birdie, & par for a 33. Interesting way to shoot a -1 under par 71.

The key was that it was just enough to give him a one shot lead over Branden Grace and John Huh.

Branden was another guy I was thinking would step up this week. The weather was cold and the golf ball was picking up mud all day!

Branden shot a solid -2 under par 70 today and was in the hunt all the way around the course.

John Huh went around the course in a ho-hum sort of round until he got to the par 4 #17. On 17 he hit a 300 yard drive and had about 73 feet to the hole from a green side bunker.

He proceeded to hole his second shot for an eagle 2. Very exciting stuff.

If the wind continues to blow tomorrow we are looking for higher scores and it will be a dogfight to see who can take it low. Gonna be fun to watch!!

Well the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf at Big Cedar Lodge got under way finally after some rain delays.

Leading the pack is Fred Funk and Jeff Sluman at -10 under par and 4 back are Davis Love III & Scott Verplank.

This is another great tournament to keep your eyes on!!
