Kevin Chappell made 180 starts on the PGA Tour and finally got his first victory and it happened at the Valero Texas Open.

Hats off to Kevin for his fine play this week and keeping his cool down #18 tied with Brooks Koepka and knowing a birdie 4 would close the deal.

Kevin hit a nice drive in the left short rough and hit his second shot to the middle of the fairway.

His third shot from 89 yards left him an 8 foot downhill putt. He knocked it right in the bottom of the cup and the celebration started.

He was so excited and so pumped that he finally got that MONKEY off his back and doesn’t have to explain to us why he didn’t have a victory in his career.

This just felt to me like it was Kevin’s week. I had mentioned the last couple of days to keep an eye on him.

Kevin has impressed me since I had a chance to spend a little time with him at the RSM Classic. Many more wins coming out of him.

Brooks Koepka came on strong firing a -7 under par round today and almost got it done. He really put the pressure on KEVIN WHEN HE BIRDIED #18 also!!

Kevin Tway and Tony Finau tied for 3rd place at -9 under par.

The tournament was fun to watch but not as exciting as some have been in the recent months.

Next week is the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and is going to be pretty cool with their new 2 man team concept.

Hard to not root for Rickie Fowler and Jason Day. That’s my pick. My sentimental pick is Branden Grace and Louie Oosthuizen.

Stay tuned lots coming up!
