The Miami Marlins took on the Cleveland Indians who were on a 8 game winning streak before arriving at Marlins Park, in Miami, Florida. Jose Fernandez pitched a great game against the Indians who couldn’t figure out how to hit this guy.
The Marlins would see Fernandez set new personal bests in the game. He struck out 14 and only walked one batter in the game. He also only gave the Indians 3 hits at his Marlin teammates were taking advantage of a poor Indians pitching effort.
The Marlins who haven’t been playing very good baseball this season were able to hit Indians pitching 16 times in the game. The offense for the Marlins looked Unstoppable at times in this game. They put 10 runs on the board and beat the Indians by shutting them out.
Cleveland had no answers while facing Fernandez. He was just too good for an Indians offense that seemed to always find a way of getting it done over their last 19 games. Facing Fernandez was just too much for the Tribe.
The Marlins offense sent the Indians starting pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez packing after just 4 innings. Jimenez gave up 9 hits and 5 runs and then the Tribe reliever didn’t fare too well either. Matt Albers pitched only 1 inning and he gave up 7 hits and 5 earned runs.
With the win the Marlins moved to 43-65 on the season.
