Congratulations to Cameron Smith and Jonas Blixt for winning the Zurich Classic of New Orleans today in a 4 hole sudden death playoff over Kevin Kisner & Scott Brown.

The playoff started today at 9:00 EST and lasted almost an hour and a half.

Only one birdie and that came from the young Aussie Cameron Smith on the 4th playoff hole.

He was so overcome with emotions that when Dottie Pepper tried to ask him a couple of questions he couldn’t even talk. It was a true emotional sight to behold.

This win was not the first for Blixt, he has won 2 times on the PGA Tour. It was Smith’s first. This 23-year-old Aussie is the #1 putter on the tour within 10 feet.

He will be a superstar.

The win gets Cameron into the Players in 2 weeks & that is exciting because he lives there and the TPC Sawgrass Stadium course is his HOME COURSE!!

Gonna be fun to watch and see how he does the rest of this year.

The playoff was necessary because there was over 6 hours of rain delay on Sunday.

The final foursome finished right as it became dark with Kevin Kisner knocking in an eagle chip to tie and force the playoff! What a great tournament.

I know the folks from Zurich are totally pumped that they went to a Ryder Cup format…….EXCITING!

This week coming up will be a real gem with the Wells Fargo Championship in Wilmington North Carolina and World #1 Dustin Johnson coming back finally.

I sure hope that he is ok and puts on a nice display. He is the World’s number one for a reason and unfortunately was hurt in a freak accident in Augusta!

It is a different tournament when DJ is in it playing at 100%. I think we will see it this week!
