Some of the fans were worried when Joey Votto went down to injury, they thought the Cincinnati Reds season was coming to a halt. Well, don’t look now people but your Reds have been on a major winning streak real-ling off a 10 game win streak and they could continue winning when they play the Padres who are 13 games behind in the National League West. The Reds and the Pittsburgh Pirates were in a neck and neck race, with he 10 game win streak the Reds have been able to pull away  from the Pirates a bit and now have a 3 game lead over them in the race for the N.L. Central.

The Reds offense and good pitching from Mat Latos helped the Reds beat the Rockies yesterday to complete the sweep 7-2. Latos gave his Reds 8 solid innings of pitching in a place that isn’t that kind to pitchers. Latos had 8 strike outs only walked two and gave up just 2 earned runs and one home run. If the Cincinnati Reds continue to play the type of baseball they are playing now they are going to be awfully tough to beat. The Reds are now at 61-40 on the season.
