Tony Stewart is out for the rest of the cup season,he broke his leg in a sprint car accident and he underwent 2 surgical procedure to repair the broken bone. Stewart will turn his car over to good friend and great driver 54-year-old Mark Martin.
Stewart is placing his car into very capable hands. Martin has years of experience and he is a proven winner. For Tony Stewart fans, this is a let down, but if you are a race fan, you’ll enjoy watching Mark Martin driving Stewart’s car.
He is a very competitive guy who is very level-headed. Stewart Haas racing is fortunate to get Martin. The team is going to do fine with Martin behind the wheel of the 14 car. Marin had this to say; ‘Hopefully, we can turn the 14 car back over to Tony an even stronger organization than what it was when he stepped away and got injured,” ”That’s the thing that I really want to work hard to do, is when it’s all said and done with, I hope that they can look back and say they were glad that they had me as a part of the organization.”
Before taking over for Stewart Martin was working part-time for Michael Waltrip racing. Waltrip let Martin out of his part-time contract so he could take over for Tony Stewart for the remainder of the season.
