1-4, This is the record for the Atlanta Falcons. Can you believe it? The Falcons couldn’t stop Geno Smith and the New York Jets from handing the team their fourth loss of the season. It is hard to believe Atlanta is playing this poorly this season.
The Falcons lost to the Jets by 2 points. They were beat 30-28 and the loss comes on a night where the Braves were eliminated form the MLB play offs. It wasn’t a good night to be a fan of Atlanta sports team’s.
Matt Ryan did what he could to get the Falcons a win, the defense just could stop the Jets when they needed too. Ryan completed 36 of 45 passes for 319 yards and 2 touchdowns in the game. He found his favorite receiver Tony Gonzalez 10 times for 97 yards. Even that wasn’t enough to pull off the win.
Julio Jones had 8 catches for 99 yards and if you missed the game you missed a fantastic one handed catch by Jones late in the game. The Falcons defense did a great job pressuring the Jets QB, they sacked him 4 times in the game and they hit him hard on a couple of those sacks.
The Falcons are having a terrible season and being 1-4 won’t eliminate them from the play-offs but it certainly is making it less likely unless they start to turn things around and win some games.
The Falcons are 4 games behind the Saints who lead the NFC south with a perfect 5-0 record. The Falcons better turn things around and they better do it quick.
