The Ohio State Buckeyes got off to a fast start today. Braxton Miller threw for 178 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Buckeyes dropped Buffalo to their knees in the season opener. Miller just didn’t have an outstanding day throwing the football, he ran for 77 yards carrying the ball 17 times for a 4.5 yard per carry average.

Miller is doing an outstanding job leading Urban Meyer’s  Buckeyes. Miller cold be one of the top candidates to win the Heisman this season. He continues to show he can get the job done and if he can stay healthy this season, there is no reason he shouldn’t be considered to win the Heisman.

The Buckeyes played a well balanced game behind Miller, they ran the football for a combined rushing total of 261 yards.Jordan Hall was the Buckeyes leading rusher, carrying the ball 21 times for 159 yards.

Miller spread the ball around to 7 different guys in this game, he Buckeyes had 199 yards receiving and they played a good solid game. Ron Tanner the sophomore defensive back had one interception. The defense held Buffalo to just 258 yards of total offense.

Dontre Wilson the Buckeyes freshman running back had a big day on special teams and darn near broke one lose on a kick,he returned the ball 51 yards….

By “got off to a fast start,” I assume you are referring to the first quarter, which the Buckeyes won 23-0. As to the last three quarters of the opener against UBuffalo, they lost 20-17.

This team, which is obviously very talented, is going to have to be much more consistent on the field over four quarters if it wants to be a championship caliber team . . . let’s hope they can maintain focus through an entire four quarters against San Diego State next week.

You got it, but lets remember sometimes when a team has a large lead they let up a bit…If it was a closer game they wouldn’t have given up….
