In a tweet sent moments ago, Ian Rapoport said expect the Pittsburgh Steelers to grant the wishes of Ben Roethlisberger to be traded after the 2013 season.
Rapoport also said in another tweet, expect Big Ben to end up with the Cardinals to be reunited with head coach Bruce Arians. It is clear the chemistry Roethlisberger once had in Pittsburgh is coming to an end.
Big Ben is having a terrible season with the Steelers and a lot of the blame has to fall on the Steelers aging defense. They play the Buffalo Bills today and if they lose this game, the Steelers will fall to 2-7 on the season.
It would be hard to imagine Roethlisberger playing for any other NFL team. He has spent his entire career in Pittsburgh. It was clear he was less than happy when Arians left the team, but by now you would think Big Ben would be over it.
If Rapoprt is correct then the Steelers would be set back years in redevelopment a team that can be a dominant force in the AFC North.
Roethlisberger has 2 super bowl wins with his Steelers and it is understandable how frustrating a losing season can be.
The Steelers have 8 games left to play this season and it will be interesting to see if Roethlisberger puts up a good fight to win.
He may have already hung this season up. We will see, how much heart Roethlisberger has by the way he finishes this season. Maybe a trade is just the thing he needs to get his head back into the game.
