Could this be Marvin Lewis’s last season as the head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals? Lewis has taken the team to the play-offs, but has had little success, taking them to the Super Bowl. Could this be the season, that Marvin Lewis gets put on the hot seat?
How much longer with the Bengals organization give Lewis to coach this team? Cincinnati is the favorite to take the AFC North. That comes as no surprised seeing how the other teams in their conference can’t get it done. But in reality, can the Bengals get it done, under the direction of Marvin Lewis?
If you look at his record, the answer is no. Lewis has been one of the most consistent coaches in the NFL. But he needs to take the Bengals to the next step. If he can’t take the Bengals past the first or second game of the play-offs, you have to wonder how long the ownership will let this continue.
I’d say this is a make or break season for the Bengals. More so for Lewis as a head coach. If the team makes it into the play-offs, Lewis has to prove he can get the job this season. I’d say he is going to be watched this season. If he fails to take the team past the first round of the play-offs, I think he will be on the hot seat.
