It is starting to look as though Marc Trestman was the right guy to hire as the new head coach of the Chicago Bears. There is still plenty of work to do to get his team where he wants them, but it is looking as though he has his team on the right track.
Trestman has been known to bring out the best in his quarterbacks. With that being said he still has a lot of work to do to get his QB’s ready for the regular season. They didn’t perform very well in the preseason game last night. Cutler only completed 4 passes for 38 yards and Josh McCown didn’t do any better completing 5 passes for 28 yards.
While Trestman may have his team moving in the right direction he has a long way to go in the passing game. He isn’t going to get his Bears many wins with his quarterbacks playing the way they did last night. The Bears are turning into a rushing team.
This is not bad, the team can control games using the run but they have to get an aerial attack going before the season starts. Trestman made his name teaching quarterbacks.. He is taking the Bears back to basics and the fans have to be hoping he gets it right before the start of the regular season.
The Bears are going to have to air it out sooner or later.
