Playing a new golf course usually tends to be tough on the pros. Francesco Molinari proved this theory wrong as he fired a beautiful -6 under par 66 at the Wells Fargo Championship.

This was the first Professional tournament held at the beautiful Eagle Point Golf Club.

Molinari started off with a ho-hum par & birdie, then he proceeds to reel off 3 birdies in a row.

#6 was parred, birdie on 7, par on 8 and a birdie on 9 for a VERY nice start with a 32 on the front nine.

The back side went nice too as he hit the par 3…10th hole to 4′ and rolled it in for a birdie 2. He parred 11, then his only hiccup on the back with a bogey 6 on the par 5…12th.

He then went par, par, another birdie 2, par, par, & birdie for a 34.

He is really playing solid and I would help an eye on him this weekend.

We have a 4 way tie for 2nd place with Alex Noren, J.B. Holmes, Grayson Murray, & Brian Campbell all looking good at -5 under par.

Most everybody had all eyes on Dustin Johnson as he has not competed in 6 weeks. Remember he had the fluke accident falling on the stairs at his rental home in Augusta this year.

He came back with a solid -2 under par 70.

He only missed 2 greens but he did miss plenty of putts. If DJ can get the putter working everybody should look out.

The #1 golfer in the world was a little rusty but is only 4 back!
It sure seems strange watching the guys play a different course this year. I love Quail Hollow but, it is hosting the PGA this year. That’s why the Wells Fargo had to be moved.

It is going to be very interesting on Friday as rain and gusty winds are predicted.

The gusts yesterday did have an effect on many shots. New course, gusty winds, & inclement weather. May be a bumpy ride this weekend.

Better hang on tight to the couch and enjoy the action, there will be plenty!!
