The Pittsburgh Pirates are the best team in the National League Central with a one game lead at the break over the Reds. The Pirates beat the San Francisco Giants 13-2 in the teams last game before the All-Star break. Neil Walker had a great day at the plate, Walker went 5 for 5 with 2 R.B.I.’s and he alone accounted for 4 of the 13 runs the Pirates scored. Andrew McCutchen the man who has been red hot all season joined the R.B.I. party with four of his own.

The Pirates offense is really coming into their own. The team got off to a slow start, they have really turned it on with Andrew McCutchen contributing big time in the first half. The Pirates pitching has done alright too. The team is going to have to play the same way in the second half to stay ahead of the Cincinnati Reds. With guys like Andrew McCutchen I look for more of the same in the second half. I just hope the All-Star Break doesn’t cool off  McCutchen, if he stays hot he will be something to watch in the second half.

Hey tell us what you think of Andrew McCutchen and the Pirates, just leave your comments below….
