The Chicago White Sox lost to the Tigers 3-1, the White Sox were looking to try and game some ground on the Tigers for second place in the A.L. central. The White Sox got on the board first in inning number one when Adam Dunn hit a home run to right field. Unfortunately this would be the only offense the Sox could come up with. The White Sox faced some tough pitching from Detroit’s Rick Porcello who struck out five and only allowed four hits in his 6-1/3 innings pitched.

All the runs in todays game came via the long ball. The Tigers hit three home runs which was more than enough to take the game and the series from Chicago 3-1. With today’s loss the White Sox fall 3 full games behind the Indians who lead the A.L. Central and the Sox are a game and a half behind the Tigers for second place.
