The St. Louis Cardinals may have struggled to get there, now they are showing they could take the series against the Washington Nationals. Chris Carpenter pitched a great game tonight. He pitched 5-2/3rd and gave up 7 hits but no runs. He walked 2 and struck out 2. The best part is he was able to hold the Nationals scoreless. Now all the Cardinals have to do is win one more game and they move on to the next round of the playoffs.

The Cardinals offense was charged tonight too. Pete Kozma’s 3 runs shot was a great lift to the team and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Most of the Cardinals line-up produced to get the win in this game. Allen Craig got the scoring started with his double to right that scored Matt Holliday. From then on the Washington Nationals looked shell-shocked.

20 runs in the last 2 games shows the Cardinals have the fire power to get it done. They are one game away from moving on, their fate is in their hands.
