By the time Phil Mickelson, gets to the first tee at Augusta, Tiger Woods will be  making the turn. Mickelson, loves playing at Augusta National Golf Club. With almost 3 hours past since Woods teed off, you wonder if this gives Phil any kind of advantage.

Mickelson has been struggling, since he won at the Phoenix open earlier this year. Phil would like nothing better than to match Woods by winning his 4th green jacket. Phil knows this week is going to test his ability to hang with the worlds best players.

At age 42, Mickelson is heading for the twilight of his PGA career. The wins aren’t coming his way, the way they once did. Phil hasn’t won multiple tournaments in a calendar year since 2009. He last won the Masters in 2010.

With Woods out on the course nearly 3 hours in front of Mickelson, maybe Phil will have a number to shoot for in round 1. If he tries to press too hard, he could end up falling backwards. If he plays the kind of golf we have seen Mickelson play at Augusta in the past, he just might have a chance this weekend.

It is will be interesting to see what Phil brings to the place he loves more than any other course, in his first round tomorrow. One thing is certain. If Woods goes out and lights it up. Mickelson will see the numbers posted in front of him.

Whether or not Phil can run him down, it something we are all gonna have to watch and see.
