Chip Kelly wasn’t very happy following his Eagles loss to the San Diego chargers. He has no one to blame for this loss other than himself, that could be the reason he isn’t happy. He needs to learn clock management skills and he needs to call better plays near the end of a tight game.
Kelly could be finding out the hard way, that having offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur in the both is of little help to him when the game is on the line. Shurmur has a long history in the NFL of blowing a win.
Kelly hired this guy and now he could be paying the price. Kelly’s offense didn’t have a very good first half either. The Eagles only put up 10 points in the first 30 minutes of play. This wasn’t very good against a Chargers team that wasn’t suppose to be good this season.
Yes the Eagles got off to slow start and it could be Kelly’s pay calling that caused them to struggle in this game. He blew it in the 4th quarter. Kelly didn’t manage the clock very well and the Eagles lost because of it.
Kelly should have called for some running plays when his clock was close to the 2 minute mark in the 4th quarter. Instead he called pass plays which fell incomplete and he left too much time on the clock for the Chargers.
His quarterbacks threw 3 in-completions and he gave the ball back to the Chargers with too much time left in the game. Kelly had a chance to get his first home victory and he blew it. His defense didn’t dominate the game all day and he made the choice to give the ball back to the Chargers with too much time left in the game.
This loss belongs to Chip Kelly. Perhaps that is the reason he was so pissed off after the loss. He has no one else to place the blame on but himself.
