Rumors are swirling around the NFL, that Andy Reid and his Kansas City Chiefs pulled off a deal that would land Alex Smith in Kansas City. Of course the official word won’t come out until the NFL starts business as usual come March 12th. If indeed Smith has landed on Reid’s Chiefs I would say the Kansas City Chiefs will be in great shape come the start of the 2013 NFL season. Smith is a proven winner who lost his starting job when he went down with a concussion.

49ers fans were shocked when Harbaugh made the choice to keep Alex Smith on the bench and play Colin Kaepernick. It was a good decision after all and it made Smith expendable. The Chiefs could become an instant contender with Alex Smith behind center this season. They still hold the first overall pick in the up-coming NFL draft, I doubt they would have surrendered that to gain Alex Smith but who knows the details of the trade to get Smith may not be public until the official start of Business on the 12th.

Andy Reid sure didn’t waste time taking care of his need for a world-class quarterback and it will be interesting to see what other moves the Chiefs make before the start of training camp this season.

Hey LG. If the Chiefs are the ones who bagged Smith, I believe it moves them behind Denver in their division, assuming to play to talent level of their current squad.

I don’t know they already had a solid running game and a pretty good defense.
