Romeo Crennel brought Peyton Hillis to Kansas City to help his Chiefs win. Today the Chiefs lost their second game in a row, this time it was to a team that wasn’t suppose to be very good, The Buffalo Bills. Peyton Hillis rushed the ball 11 times for 66 yards for a 6.0 yard per carry average. The Chiefs couldn’t stop the Bills Ryan Fitzpatrick or their running back C.J. Spiller. The Chiefs defense for the second game in a row stunk. When Crennel was the defensive coordinator they played better defense than we have seen in the Chiefs first 2 games.

The Chiefs defense saw Spiller run all over today, he had 15 carries for 115 yards and 2 touchdowns. You are not going to when many games when you let the opposing teams running-back rush for an 8.2 yards per carry average.  Crennel has to find a way to sure up his Chiefs defense otherwise it is going to be a very long season for the Chiefs. Starting out at 0-2 isn’t going to help Crennel’s Chiefs get to where he wanted to take them this season.

The Chiefs offense led by Matt Cassel didn’t play  that poorly. If the Chiefs defense keeps giving up these kinds of numbers you can’t expect Matt Cassel to make up the difference. Cassel threw for over 300 yards and 2 touchdowns and had only one interception. He was sacked 5 times for 29 yards and the O-line needs to protect him better too, that is a given. You can’t lay all the blame for today’s loss or even last weeks loss on the Kansas City offense. Romeo Crennel has to address his defensive problems and he better do it this week….

Cassel only started completeing passes after the Bill put in their second string defense. Cassel left the defense out on the field way to much with on 4 total yards halfway through the second quarter. Most of the blame lands directly on Matt Cassels shoulders.
