Friday was the second day of the Presidents Cup and the United States team let the Internationals know that they are in it to WIN IT!

Today’s match was called Four Ball.

It simply means everybody plays their own ball and the player with the low score on the hole wins a point and it went all the way to the end in match one.

Jordan Spieth & Patrick Reed were pitted against Hideki Maysuyama & Adam Hadwin.

It was a ping-pong match back and forth all day but when the dust settled it ended up all even so each team got 1/2 of a point.

The second match of the day featured Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas against Louie Oosthuizen and Branden Grace. It was really all Fowler and Thomas.

Louie and Branden had their backs against the wall all day long.

It seemed like every hole they had to sink a 6 or 7 footer just to tie.

The match ended after 16 as the US guys were 3 up with 2 holes left to play. That gave the US them a full point and really headed them in the right direction.

The third match on Friday was a good one! Phil Mickelson & Kevin Kisner vs. Jason Day & Marc Leishman.

Both teams had their ups and downs and it all came down to #18 when Phil hit a beautiful shot to the right of the pin and sunk at 20+ foot putt for the birdie and earned the US a full point!

Way to go Leftie, nice to have him on our team!!!!

Our 2 rookies were put together today…Charlie Hoffman & Kevin Chappell were pitted against Charl Schwartzel & Anirban Lahiri. Charl and Anirban only won one hole all day.

The match was over after #13 and the US team won 6&5. Six holes up with 5 to go!

Another full point for the United States.

The last group was Dustin Johnson & Brooks Koepka vs. Adam Scott & Jhonattan Vegas.

Maybe the toughest match of the day. It was back and forth but the US team won 15 & 16 in a row and closed them out 3&2 for another point.

That makes the score after 2 days United States 8 the International Team 2.

Going to be interesting. I think the Internationals will be getting together tonight to plan strategies and should do better tomorrow.

Then it will come down to the Sunday single matches. Wow gonna see some great golf this weekend. ENJOY!
