We knew it wouldn’t last forever. At 38-years-old, David Beckham says he has had enough. The sports icon is calling it a career at the end of this season.  When Beckham moved to the French capital on a short-term contract in January, I think the PSG thought they would have the former England captain for a couple of seasons at the least.

Not going to happen. Beckham  has decided to call it a career as soon as this season is over.  He said; “I’m thankful to PSG for giving me the opportunity to continue but I feel now is the right time to finish my career, playing at the highest level.”

Beckham is responsible for making soccer as popular as the sport is. He has been one of the most recognizable players around the world for years. The sport is really going to miss him and now he will have planty of time to be at home to play with his lovely wife. Who can blame him?

Beckham said on of his proudest achievements, was captaining his country. He said, “I knew every time I wore the Three Lions shirt, I was not only following in a long line of great players, I was also representing every fan that cared passionately about their country.

The sport won’t be the same without him….
