Jason Witten could return to the Cowboys lineup as soon as week 2 when the Cowboys take on the Seattle Seahawks, Witten still wants to return for the opener against the New York Giants. The team doctors just told Witten his spleen is healing itself and he will avoid surgery. Like most other impact players, Witten wants to come back right away. The Cowboys are going to have to make Wittten sit out otherwise they could risk losing Witten for the entire season if he re-injures his spleen and he would need surgery.

Jerry Jones and his Cowboys dodged a bullet with this news, losing Witten would have been a major blow to the Cowboys offense. Witten has been one of Tony Romo’s go to guys, catching 409 passes for 4,824 yards and 21 touchdowns since Romo took over as the starter in 2006. Witten has only missed one game in his career back in 2003 because of a fractured jaw as a rookie in 2003,he has played through all kinds of other injuries such as broken ribs, knee injuries and hurt ankles. The Cowboys are lucky to get him back….

That is just what the doctor ordered for the Cowboys. Jason Witten, you are one tough dude.
