The Reds lost today to the Minnesota Twins 4-3. The Reds just came off a three game sweep in Cleveland and now Reds fans are asking, “Could the Reds have been beaten by a worse team than the Twins”? Well, the answer to that question is yes, the Reds could have been beaten by the Cubs who have the worst record in the Major Leagues. The Reds were beat by a team that is bad, however they are not the worse team in baseball so far in this season. The Cubs have only won 24 games while the twins have won 29 including today’s win over the Reds.
The Reds lost the game when their relief pitcher Aroldis Chapman gave up 2 runs in the ninth inning to the Twins. It was the Twins Left Fielder Josh Willingham who took Chapman deep with a two run blast. Chapman is usually pretty good for the Reds, when you give up a long ball this late in a game, there isn’t much you can do. The Reds are still on top of the N.L. Central by a game over the Pirates. If things keep going this way for the Reds I don’t see them being there long.
