Corey Conners still leads the VALSPAR Championship after round two at the beautiful Innisbrook Resort ( Copperhead course).

A solid -2 under par performance today allowed him to hold onto a lead that is by 2 going into Saturday’s third round.

Corey had company at the top for a while today and actually slipped out of the lead for a minute when the “BIG CAT” Tiger Woods was on the prowl.

Tiger started out today making us all think that this could be his week.

He isn’t really letting up at all with a nice -3 under par round of 68 and is sitting in a tie for second place only 2 shots out of the lead.

Tiger was SOLID with 4 birdies and only one bogey.

He really is starting to look like the “Tiger of Old”.

He’s making a lot of people happy now, me included! It’s been such a long time since he has been competitive and all is better when Tiger is healthy.

Tiger is joined in 2nd place by 4 other players.

We have Paul Casey, Brandt Snedeker, Ryan Palmer, & Kelly Kraft all 2 strokes off the lead.

Ryan Palmer was the lowest today with a -5 under par 66 and has been very solid as of late.

The other big news are our heavy hitters who missed the cut.

Jordan Spieth couldn’t make a putt to save his life and poor Rory McIlroy was having a heck of a time swinging the club.

Both ended up 5 over par and missed the cut by 2 shots. This was McIlroy’s sixth consecutive round that he shot over par.

Time to get to the range and figure this out. He was my pick to win the Masters and finish off his grand slam but he had better kick it in gear or it will be put off for another year.

Rory is scheduled to play the Arnold Palmer Invitational next week and Jordan will take the week off before the World Golf Championship in Austin Texas.

The tee times for Saturday have been posted and Tiger will go off next to last with Brandt Snedeker at 1:45 pm. Corey Conners is teamed up with Paul Casey in the final pairing at 1:55.

It may be tough for the last group, as we all know, Tiger gets the crowd and I hope all the movement won’t affect Casey and Conners too much.
