Corey Conners may have grown up in Canada but he can surely play golf in Florida.

He leads the VALSPAR Championship by one stroke after Thursday’s round.

Corey is not the most well-known guy on the PGA Tour but boy can he play.

4 birdies for a 32 on the front nine and a birdie/bogey on the back for a 35.

4 under par on this TOUGH Innisbrook Resort (Copperhead) course was pretty special today.

Corey’s story is pretty amazing because he wasn’t in the field on Wednesday, but when another player withdrew he got in the tournament, now he is your first round leader!

Corey was teammates at Kent State in Ohio with Mackenzie Hughes. What a team they had! He said post round that he didn’t try to overpower it and only missed 4 fairways.

Every week it seems the old saying of hitting fairways and greens becomes more and more true.

The wind today at Innisbrook was nothing less than just plain brutal. Approx. only 20% of the field were able to break par.

3 are tied for second place. They are Wee Kim, Kelly Kraft, & Nick Watney. They all fired -3 under par 68’s and are only one-off the lead.

The course had to open up several more parking lots and are expecting over 10,000 extra cars this weekend primarily because of a fellow named TIGER WOODS.

TIGER had 5 birdies today but could only end up with a -1 under par 70. We just can not count him out because he is only 3 shots off the lead.

I’ve said over and over just how good he looks and it won’t be long til we see him holding the trophy on Sunday. If it doesn’t happen this weekend I will go out on a limb and really push the envelope by saying Tiger will get his 9th victory at Bay Hill.

He just looks so good and I really feel from the bottom of my heart that he wants a win so bad he can taste it.

Tiger wants and needs a win as bad as Phil did last week. He watched Phil get the W and enjoyed every minute of it. We have some amazing golf in store this week. ENJOY!!!!
