Chris Kirk was on FIRE in round one of the RSM CLASSIC.

When I saw him after 2 holes he looked good but what came next was absolutely amazing. He became un-hittable!

Shoots a -5 under par 31 on the front side. Then he proceeds to finish with an eagle on 18 for a -4 under par 32 on the back nine.

31&32=63 and a one shot lead after round one!!

It was a breezy and cool day on St Simon’s Island.

We were all dressed in layers and kept peeling them off. Beautiful day and Friday should be close to the same. Maybe a little cooler because of the windy conditions.

Joel Dahman who you may know is a sophomore on the PGA Tour Came out swing today!

He fired an awesome 8-under par 64 and is only one shot off the lead!

We have a strong 3 way tie for 3rd place at -7 under par 65.

Jason Kokrak, the pride of Warren Ohio, Hudson Swafford, lives on St Simons Island , and of course the old pro Brian Gay are tied for third place.

I watched everybody who played today very closely and I seriously have to say that the winner will come from one of the five players I mentioned above!!

The hall of fame caddy of Zach Johnson, Damon Green told me that the wind controls these courses.

If the wind blows harder it will keep the scores lower.

We had enough wind today that I think even with a little harder winds we will see the champ come from the leader board today!

Have fun and come out if you are near St Simon’s and enjoy the tournament. If not check out the golf channel !!
