It has been a while since Indy cars have raced at the Pocono Raceway. Today was the first time in 24 years the Indy cars have ran there. A guy who knows the track and now owns a great race team Chip Ganassi saw his cars finish in the top three spots.

Today means that Target Chip Ganassi racing has turned the corner. Coming in late from Daytona, Ganassi said he had no idea his cars would sweep the top three spots. Scott Dixon won the race and his teammates, finished 2nd and 3rd.

For many this was the first time they have raced an Indy car at Pocano. The guys who drive for Chip Gannassi racing thought they would be out gunned by horsepower in this race. They didn’t realize coming in to this race on the Pocono race tract took proper planning more so than horsepower.

This would be the 200th race that Honda has won. Scott Dixon finished first and now he has the experience it takes to race the tri-oval at Pocono. Charlie Kimball came in second and he was thrilled that the Gannssi team came in 1-2 & 3.

Kimball races with type 2 diabetes and he was happy that he could put on a show for his fans and his sponsors. Dario Franchitti finished 3rd and he had to change engines for the race. He attributed the strong finish to the Honda’s getting great fuel millage in the race. All three drivers were glad they could give Chip Gannassi a sweep by finishing at the top three spots.

Chip Gannassi was happy and he should be. He has a lot to celebrate after watching the way his race teams responded at the Pocono Raceway.
