The Chicago White Sox couldn’t find the answer for the Indians Justin Masterson who pitched extremely well today. Chicago’s pitching didn’t fair as well as the Cleveland Indians rang up 12  runs against the Sox pitching staff. The White Sox just couldn’t hit Masterson out of the infield.  The White Sox were hit-less against Justin Masterson today, a pitcher they may face 4 or 5 times during the season. The Sox bats couldn’t get anything going until Masterson’s exit. In the fifth inning the Sox got a mini rally going as former Indian Kosuke Fukudome singled and later scored when Dan Johnson delivered an RBI single off Tribe reliever Frank Herrmann. Chicago added two runs in the sixth — highlighted by A.J. Pierzynski’s solo home run off Cleveland righty Dan Wheeler. The long ball was the first of the spring for Pierzynski.

White Sox starter Dylan Axelrod did a good job against the Tribe who only struck for one run facing Axlerod. Axelrod was charged with one run on three hits over three innings, during which he struck out two. Chicago right-hander Zach Stewart was hit hard to start off the fourth by Carlos Santana for a inning opening double. Santana was able  to score from second base on a error from White Sox left fielder Dayan Viciedo.

The White Sox didn’t really get things going today to well as they lost to the Indians 12-3 in Cactus League victory at Goodyear Ballpark.
