Two things are certain, Tiger Woods loves Firestone and he set a record there with 7 wins. This isn’t the same Tiger Woods that we saw win at Firestone 7 times in his career. Woods hasn’t been the dominant player he was.

The tour has a lot of talent and the other players don’t fear Woods the way they once did. Woods hasn’t won at Firestone since 2009 and he is long overdue. He needs to play some good golf to beat the field that will be playing in the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.

The field is strong and that is something we haven’t seen out of Tigers game in a while. He needs to win this tournament to show the world he can still be a force on the PGA tour. If he can get off to a good start, he could pull a head if the field.

Woods has a problem coming from behind to win. That is why it is so important to get off to a good start. Playing on a course he loves should help Tiger do that. Woods will use this week at Firestone to get his game in shape to compete in the seasons final major which takes place nest week.

It would be good to see Woods win his 8th at Firestone but I just don’t think it is going to happen. We should know by Friday.
