The Pittsburgh Steelers need a win Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals to keep things interesting in the AFC North. Ben Roethlisberger has to stand in their and deliver a win in order to keep his Steelers in the hunt. Pittsburgh has had the Bengals number beating them in their last three meetings. This week the Steelers and the Bengals come into the game pretty well matched offensively. The Bengals has a slight edge ranked at 18th compared to the Steelers ranking at 19. That doesn’t say to much about the real story, the Steelers were without their starting Q.B. for a number of weeks. In the last game Ben Roethlisberger looked to have some of the magic back, he was able to hang in against the Dallas Cowboys and it looked like he would get an overtime win until he threw an interception. That had to hurt and I’ll bet he has wished for that one back all week. This Sunday I look for a much more in tuned Roethlisberger to show up. The Bengals are going to get a taste of the real Ben, looking for a way to get his Steelers into the play offs.

The Bengals defense has improved a lot this season. They are ranked in the 6th spot in the NFL and I really don’t know where that came from. Coming into the season the Bengals defense wasn’t very good and I still think they are doing it with smoke and mirrors. Lets see if they play up to that stat against the Steelers, somehow I don’t think they can deliver the kind of defense it is going to take to stop a hungry Ben Roethlisberger.  The Steelers defense is going to have to bring pressure against Andy Dalton. That is going to be key in order for the Steelers to control the game they have to keep the ball out of the hands of the Bengals receiving core. These guys the Bengals have at their wide out positions can kill you quick. The Steelers front 7 are going to have to step it up and try to limit Dalton’s timing. If they can do that then the Steelers have a shot at a win.

If Pittsburgh wins this game they will be tied with the Bengals who already have 5 wins in the conference. It is going to be a interesting rest of the season for the Pittsburgh Steelers, they finish it off against the Cleveland Browns who already beat the Steelers once this season. This could be a great Christmas for the people of Pittsburgh with a Steelers win Sunday.
