Is today the day we see Danica Patrick win a race? She is doing well in her preparation for the Coca-Cola 600. She has practiced well all week, and she has qualified fourth for today’s race. This comes after she actually finished a race in 7th place to say the least.

Maybe her missing the All-Star fan vote was a wake up call. We haven’t seen this kind of consistency from Patrick in a NASCAR since she came to the Sprint Cup Series.

Now, don’t get too excited, she still has to negotiate a lot of miles in some serious traffic before they can bring her into the winners circle. But this is a major step in the right direction for the young lady.

Starting fourth and running some of the fastest times, can certainly help her get into position to finish well in today’s race. But she has to keep the car out of any situations that would take her chance of finishing away from her.

It will be interesting to see how Danica carries this newly found momentum into the race. She has to stay patient and she has to be there at the end to have a chance.

But the way she has practiced and the way she qualified, certainly should make her a consideration in today’s race.
