Cam Newton just wasn’t good enough to get his team into the NFC Championship game. He only completed 16 of the 25 passes he threw and he couldn’t overcome the 49ers defense.

He threw 2 interceptions and he tried to get things going with his legs. Newton ran for 54 yards on 10 carries and he didn’t have the day his team was hoping for. The 49ers out played the Panthers.

The Carolina defense didn’t play well either. The team had a great season, but if you ask anyone of the members, they will tell you they fell short of their goal.

Ted Gin Jr. had a great game. He had 4 catches for 104 yards and he did everything he could to help his team win. Gin had another 62 yards in kick returns and 27 more yards in punt returns.

He couldn’t do it alone and the team looked to be out coached too. Nonetheless the Carolina Panthers had a great season. 12-4 is nothing to laugh at. This was one of their best seasons in a long time and they will have something to build on coming into the 2014 season.

Cam Newton just needs his offensive unit to perform at a higher level when his team makes it into the play offs. HE is young, and he is learning as he goes. Newton’s time will come.
