Bud Cauley fires a 33/33=66 and Tony Finau shoots an amazing 65 to tie for the lead after round 2 of the Valero Texas Open.

Nice to see Bud stepping up and playing solid golf!! Watching him at Harbour Town last week, he only looked about 18 years old.

Tony Finau could have gone much lower as he started out birdie, birdie, then par, bogey. Birds on 5 and 6 then ran off 3 pars in a row to shoot a 33 on the front.

The back nine was incredible! Birdie on 10 and then holed it out from the fairway to eagle #11. Par on 12, birdie, par, birdie, & birdie. When he approached # 18 no one knew what he was going to shoot.

Well a bogey 6 on the par 5 18th hole ruined that anticipation!

I don’t care how he got there. A 65 is a wonderful round and Tony Finau is one of the nicest guys you will ever come across on the PGA Tour.

Cameron Smith finished in a tie for 3rd with the ever young Bob Estes and Kevin Chappell. I am going out on a limb and say Kevin Chappell is the one to keep an eye on come Sunday.

This is another tournament just like last week at the RBC Heritage where you can not believe the heavy hitters who missed the cut.

Ian Poulter who is under the gun and is dangerously close to losing his PGA Tour card. Seems almost hard to believe but they have their rules.

Cabrera, Goosen, Reed, Kirk, Donald, Z. Johnson, Saunders, Choi, DeChambeau, Wagner, Hoffman, and many more missed the cut!

I am anxious to see who rises to the top come Sunday. Going to be a lot of fun to watch.
