Bud Cauley only stands 5’7″ and weighs in at 160. You wouldn’t have known that today taking on Harbour Town Golf Links like a GIANT!

A perfect scorecard with 8 birdies and 10 pars gave him a 63 and a 2 shot lead over the 3 players tied for second. Luke Donald, Graham DeLaet, & Arnold Palmer’s grandson Sam Saunders.

Everyone wants to win this week but I think the one who wants it most is Sam Saunders. His grandfather Arnold Palmer won the inaugural tournament here in 1969.

It would be cool to see Sam putting on the Tartan Plaid jacket come Sunday.

Luke Donald is in a familiar spot with 4 second place finishes and has never won the tournament.

He knows this course and knows where to hit drives but he has to make a few more birdies. Donald did birdie par 5 number 2 by hitting his 209 yard second shot to within 3 1/2 feet.

He proceeded to drain the putt. His only snag today was on a bogey 5 on number 11.

Everybody said the same thing today during their post round interviews…….it’s not enough to be just in the first at Harbour Town, you have to put it either on the left side or the right side. Lots of trees were lost but many have been replaced.

They are still enjoying the course but finding it playing a little different this year.

It’s is going to be a wild ride thru the weekend as the weather people are predicting perfect weather.

Scores could REALLY go low and a few players think the course record of 61 might be in jeopardy.

Harbour Town has some of the smallest greens on tour at an avg. of 3700 square feet.

The stimp-meter is running about 11 this week less than the super fast greens at the Masters.

The greens are Tif-Eagle Bermuda 0.125″

Let’s see who gets hot going into the weekend. I think it will be a blast!
