Bubba Watson teed of Sunday Morning against Justin Thomas and handley put him away 3&2. Bubba Watson won the Dell Technologies Match Play World Championship in style.
Watson played Kevin Kisner this afternoon and beat him 7&6. Seriously Kevin didn’t have his best stuff but Watson just kept the pedal to the metal and totally dominated the match.
Kisner beat Alex Noren this morning and sent him against Justin Thomas this afternoon. He quite frankly ran over Justin and won 5&3.
There has been a lot of discussion about the match play format and I am all for it but it is so difficult to play 18 in the morning and then another 18 in the afternoon especially on this course. Of course if you continue you needed to play morning and afternoon Sunday also.
I really think they were getting tired and that’s why both matches ended so early today.
The PGA Tour stays in Texas to play the Houston Open this week coming up.
Once they are thru in Houston a lot of the fellows head for Augusta to play in the Granddaddy of them all THE MASTERS.
Brice Garnett did it!! Yep he led wire to wire to win the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship. He fired a solid -2 under par 70 to finish the tournament with a 4 shot victory and a -18 under par score. Incredible play by this young man. That is his first PGA Tour win. He was a 2 time winner on the Web.Com tour last year.
All eyes were on Tony Romo the Cowboys QB but he could only muster up a 77-82 and finished dead last in the field. This will fuel more discussions about giving sponsor’s exemptions to amateurs! He is a pro football QB but an amateur on the PGA Tour.
The Champions tour is always exciting to watch…….how about Gene Sauers -6 under par 66 today? Keep it up Gene you are awesome.
Final wasn’t it when this was posted but looking like Steve Stricker is going to get a big win this week.
