We all watched in awe when Peyton Manning went down grabbing his right knee last Sunday. The MRI he had Monday came back clear, but the aging quarterback with the 2 bad ankles isn’t practicing today, and the Broncos interim head coach Jack Del Rio said Manning needs a couple of days off.
Manning said he will play in Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. This is the biggest game of the season for both teams. Anyone who has followed Manning’s career knows, by him missing a practice he has got to be hurting. The Broncos are going to have to protect Manning against the Chiefs pass rush.
If the Kansas City Line backers are allowed to get to Manning you have to wonder if he will be able to make it through the game. Right now, I am wondering if the ageless one is seeing the years catch up to him.
I am also wondering if Manning will make it through the 2013 season. He has to have his legs to play in the NFL. He has to be able to escape and protect himself against the pass rush.
Somehow the Broncos offensive line has to find a way to protect Manning on Sunday, or the team may be kissing post season play goodbye is Manning goes down. He has played fantastic this season and the team has to be as concerned about him as much as we are.
Lets hope he is OK come game day.
