There is little doubt that Peyton Manning was the NFL’s comeback player of the year in 2012. Manning who missed the entire 2011 season came back and showed his critics he could still play a the level he sets the bar at. Manning switched teams and still took his new team the Denver Broncos to a 13-3 record and to the play offs. The Broncos paid Manning a ton of money to come to Denver and he showed it was money well spent. He could have done a better job in the play offs and it is going to be hard to reproduce his first season in Denver. Getting another 13 wins in his second season may not be as easy as they think.

Nonetheless the A.P. got it right and they gave the right player the comeback player of the year award. After all some thought Manning’s days in the NFL were over. John Elway and the Denver Broncos took a chance on Manning and the gamble paid off huge. Maybe next season Manning can collect another MVP. Who knows……
