Ben Roethlisberger and his Pittsburgh Steelers, showed up last night and played the kind of football the team used to be known for. Pittsburgh was a hard-hitting team that dominated the Cincinnati Bengals in the first half of the game.

It was old fashion Steelers smash mouth football. Even the Bengals punter Kevin Huber felt the effects of a Steelers smash mouth football game. On one of his punts the Steelers fractured his jaw when he was trying to stop the Steelers from returning his punt for a touchdown.

Pittsburgh was out to make a statement and they accomplished what they were trying to do. They held the Bengals to only 7 first half points while shutting them out in the 1st quarter. Roethlisberger and his Steelers took a 21-0 lead in the first quarter.

Big Ben threw for 191 yards completing 20 of the 25 passes he attempted. The Steelers sure didn’t look like the Steelers that started the season at 0-4. If they could have played this kind of football all season they would be in first place in the AFC North.

Pittsburgh is fighting to try to make the play-offs, if they can win out, they would finish the season with an 8-8 record. They are in 3rd place in the AFC North and they are a game behind the Ravens. The Steelers play Cleveland once more this season and they play the Packers next who had a heck of a come back to best the Cowboys.

You can expect another smash mouth football game out of the Steelers when they take on the Packers.
