Where did this version of Andy Dalton come from? He must have watched all those Peyton Manning touchdown passes this season and decided he wanted to know what it felt like to throw 5 touchdowns in a single game.
This is exactly what Dalton did to down the New York Jets 49-9. Dalton looked like a great NFL quarterback. He threw for 325 yards completing 19 of his 30 pass attempts and he was only sacked by the Jets defense once in the game.
Dalton did a great job of spreading the ball around to his receivers. Marvin Jones led the way with 8 receptions for 122 yards and then it was A.J. Green who had 3 huge receptions for 115 yards.
The Jets never knew what hit them. They didn’t expect the Andy Dalton that showed up in this game and I don’t think anyone did. This was one of Dalton’s finest performances and he and his Bengals are waking up today enjoying the team’s 6th win of the season.
The Bengals were picked by many to win the AFC North this season and with the way the team is playing now It looks very possible.
At 6-2 the Bengals currently have a 3 game lead in the AFC North and are in control of their own destiny. If the team can continue to play the way they did against the Jets, the Bengals are going to be hard to stop.
