Austin Cook won his first PGA event and boy did he do it in style!
Taking a 3 stroke advantage into the fourth round, he extended the lead and ended up with a 4 shot victory!

Austin ended up with a 261 which is -21 under par. Really amazing with the cold weather we started out with.

This was only Cook’s 14th start on the PGA Tour. That is the mark of more remarkable things to come for this 5’ 7”, 160 lb., 26-year-old.

Wisely he has hooked up with the wise and experienced caddy Kip Henley. Kip has caddied 10 years for Brian Gay and a short time gig with VJ Singh. Kind of ironic having Brian Gay in the last group also today.

Brian made it look easy moving into soul third place with an eagle 2 on #18.
The coolest part of the win is usually the money.

This time it means 500 FedEx Cup points and an exemption thru the 2019-20 season. Lots of invites to some of the greatest invitational including The Masters in April!

Austin became the fifth player to make the RSM Classic his first win.

He also became the first rookie to win this year and fourth first time winner to join Ryan Armour, Patrick Cantlay, & Patton Kizzire.

He led the field with 23 birdies and only 2 bogies.

JJ Spaun finished alone in second place at -17 under par. He also played wonderful. He had a second round 62 which was his lowest official round on the PGA Tour.

Brian Gay the 3rd place finished had 2 eagles in a single round this week. Believe it or not that made him the 5th player to do that this season.

It’s going to interesting to see how Austin Cook’s career continues. Personally after watching him very closely this week I think we will see some serious greatness coming from this young man.

Hope everyone has a safe & Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!
